Dear Association,
The Government of Pakistan (GoP) has set up Export Import Bank of Pakistan
(EXIMBP) as a development finance institution (DFI) to promote expansion and
diversification of the export base of the country by providing short term
export credit (Pre & Post shipment), medium, long term financing
facilities, guarantees, export credit insurance and other supporting services
to the exporters. The bank is going to commence its operations in accordance
with international best practices and has hired a consultant with the help of
Asian Development Bank (ADB) to prepare a clear road map, products &
services, business plan, operational manuals and governance structure etc.
Recently an ADB Mission along with the consultant Ms. Diana Smallridge visited
Pakistan to ascertain the market gap and business requirements and met
with stakeholders i.e. Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of
Textile, SBP, leading commercial banks, select large as well as small &
medium exporters.
In the above context, EXIMBP is undertaking an initial market demand study
through a survey questionnaire (link provided below) before launching its
operations, to ensure that the products & services offered are targeting/
meeting the needs and expectations of Pakistani exporters.
In view of the above, we would like to hear from you on how best EXIMBP can
assist Pakistani exporters to become internationally competitive, manage their
risks, access financing to support their exports and expand export markets.
This will enable EXIMBP to tailor its products and services to most effectively
meet their needs.
We would be grateful if you get the survey questionnaire filled out from at
least 10 exporters who are members of your esteemed association. It could take
approximately 20 minutes to complete this survey. We suggest export manager or CFO level
official fill out this survey within two
weeks time (latest by May 23, 2017) from
the date of receiving this mail. Attached is the survey questionnaire link: Exporter Survey
