CERTIFICATION INCENTIVE PROGRAM FOR SMEs

UNDER PQI INITIATIVE 2025

Dear Members,

We are pleased to inform that Government of Pakistan has declared year 2016 as the year of Productivity, Quality and Invention (PQI). To support PQI Initiatives, Ministry of Science & Technology has launched “Certification Incentive Program for SMEs under PQI Initiative 2025”.

This program has been launched to assist the industries who may use professional services to solve their problems, which would lead to better quality products, improved industrial productivity, high level of competitiveness and wider penetration of Pakistani products into the international market.

In this connection Dr. Khaula Shirin, Director General, PCSIR/ Provincial Project Coordinator Sindh, with her team Members namely Dr.Omer Mukhtar and Mr.Ejaz visited PHMA House, Karachi, on 7^th August 2017 to formally introduce this scheme to members of PHMA.  Details of this incentive program are as under.

        I.            Government of Pakistan will provide incentive to industries ranging from one lac to four lac rupees max. for the international Certifications obtained by them during past 6 months.

      II.            Members having annual turnover of upto PKR 400 million or higher (under 500 million) may apply for the incentive program.  

    III.            In case of more than one Certification, members may opt for higher incentive option.

   IV.            This program is valid up to June-2019 during which period, one industry can avail this benefit only once. Total funds allocated for this program is PKR 745 million, out of which, major chunk has been allocated for exporting industries.
