EU Partially Withdraw EBA Trade
Preferences from Cambodia Based on
information received from Pakistan's Mission in Brussels, the Ministry of
Commerce has informed that the European Commission has decided to
partially withdraw trade preferences, granted under the EBA scheme (i.e
Everything But Arms category of the EU-GSP beneficiary countries), for certain
products including low added garments, footwear, travel goods and sugar from
Cambodia due to non-compliance of treaty obligations. The
Regulation will take effect on 12th August and affect almost 1 Billion Euro
exports of Cambodia to the EU. This could be an opportunity for Pakistani exporters to make greater
inroads into the EU market for these products. Details regarding HS
