Garment and Footwear Sector

Regards Khadim Rasool Secretary General Subject: Invitations to
attend (online, parts of) OECD annual Forum on due diligence for the garment
and footwear sector next week Dear STTI participants, Next week, Monday February 13th to
Friday February 17th, the OECD Forum on due diligence for the
garment and footwear sector again offers a great opportunity to shine the
spotlight on STTI. Many brands, retailers, MSIs, governments, manufacturers and
other stakeholders will come to Paris again this year. STTI has since its
inception in 2021 acquired a ‘fixed’ position on the world’s main garment and
textile sustainability policy stage. But the OECD Forum also offers you and your members
an excellent opportunity to learn about our joint battle to improve purchasing
practices. The OECD Forum offers two days of in person meetings in Paris
(Thursday February 16th and Friday February 17th) and it
offers three days of online webinars Monday February 13th- Wednesday
February 15th) We highly recommend you to participate in this
event and to recommend it to your members. STTI is present in two webinars.
Fatima-Zohra Alaoui of Amith, Morocco and vice spokesperson of STTI will speak
on Tuesday February 14th from 10 am to 11 am CET on purchasing
practices in the session “Responsible Purchasing Practices: how can
companies integrate them in their businesses?” For this session, register here. Fatima-Zohra will explain both from a national as
from a global STTI perspective what buyers need to change to improve their
purchasing practices. And on Tuesday February 14th from
16:00 pm to 17:00 pm CET STTI and the Better Buying Institute (BBI) will host
the online session: “Commercial compliance - accelerating change, measuring
progress.” Please register here for this webinar. This session will include highlights from the latest Better
Buying surveys so that you can obtain a good idea of what progress on
purchasing practices has actually been made. Live in Paris both undersigned and STTI
spokesperson Miran Ali will participate in panels representing STTI. And there
are more interesting (webinar) sessions to watch. For more information about
the entire week long program of the OECD Forum, please check here. Please let me know if you have any questions
and I hope to see you either in Paris, online at ‘our’ sessions or both! Kind regards,
