Ref. No. PHMA/024/2024
Dated:11th September 2024
Addressing Overbilling Issues &
Installation of Sub-Meters for Accurate Monitoring
Dear PHMA Members,
It has come to our
attention that many of our members are facing significant overbilling issues,
particularly from K-Electric. In response to these concerns, the PHMA is
actively addressing the matter with NEPRA, alongside exporters and other
consumers, to highlight grievances related to overbilling and the Maximum
Demand Indicator (MDI) imposed by respective DISCOs. Several of members reported
that they have noticed low consumption on their sub-meters while comparing
the main Electric supply meter which reflect higher consumption of units and
overbilling.
In light of this, the PHMA
urges all its members to install their own sub-meters to monitor and
cross-check their electricity consumption readings independently. This will
ensure accurate tracking of your electricity usage and assist in addressing
any discrepancies with the respective DISCO/KE. We highly recommend taking
prompt action to install sub-meters for efficient monitoring and avoid future
disputes related to billing inaccuracies.
Those members who have
noticed such overbilling as mentioned above are advised to send their
complaints to PHMA along with relevant details.
