Details of (1) Pending Sales Tax Refund Claims; (2) Deferred Sales Tax Refund Claims; (3) Pending cases of Zero Rating on Utilities and (4) Show Cause / Audit Notices of Withholding Tax

We refer to the meeting held with Chief Commissioner, Regional Tax Office (RTO), Karachi, Hafiz Muhammad Ali Indhar and Commissioner, RTO Zone-I, Mr. Ashfaq Tunio at PHMA House, Karachi on Wednesday, 21^st January, 2015 and are pleased to inform our valued members that these officials have been very receptive and cooperative to the issues and problems of our member exporters discussed therein.

However it is indeed a matter of great regret and concern that to observe that despite our circulars and regular SMS to our members / their nominees’ to positively participate in such an important meeting, attendance of members / their nominees was very thin.

Therefore, Members are once again advised to send details of their below mentioned matters to the Association by today Thursday, 22^nd January, 2015 positively for onward submission to the Regional Tax Office, Karachi.

(1) Pending Sales Tax Refund Claims

(2) Deferred Sales Tax Refund Claims

(3) Pending cases of Zero Rating on Utilities

(4) Show Cause / Audit Notices of Withholding Tax based on 17% sales tax while textile sector is liable to pay sales tax at reduced rates of 2% and 3% on their purchases.
