Federal Guidelines on Human Rights Due Diligence

Dear Members,

We wish to bring to your attention an important development regarding the implementation of?Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD)?in business operations.

As part of the Government of Pakistan?s commitment under the?National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights (NAP-BHR), launched in December 2021, the?Federal Government has issued Guidelines for Federal and Provincial Organizations, outlining?Proposed Action Points and Timelines?for integrating human rights practices into business conduct. (copy enclosed ? Pages 1-3).

The objective of these?HRDD Guidelines?is to ensure that business activities, particularly in the private sector, align with responsible human rights practices. They provide a structured framework for companies to identify, prevent, and address human rights impacts arising from their operations and value chains.
