Subject: Upcoming Industry Engagement Event - GIZ WE Project & EU-BMZ BGBE Project

Dear Members,

 

PHMA promptly shares details of an important upcoming engagement session organized for PHMA Karachi members in collaboration with international development partners, including GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) and EU-BMZ funded initiatives.

This session will highlight industry success stories under the GIZ project “Promoting Employment by Strengthening the Role of Women (WE)”, showcasing practical interventions implemented by partner industries in Karachi. These presentations will focus on key thematic areas including:

• Diversity & Inclusion in the workplace
• Human Resource Management best practices
• Promotion of women into leadership positions
• Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) improvements
• LEAN Manufacturing and productivity enhancement

 

In addition, the session will also include an onboarding briefing for the EU-BMZ co-financed “Better Governance and Business Environment (BGBE)” project, aimed at strengthening governance frameworks and improving the overall business environment for the textile sector.

 

The event will be conducted in two phases in a half-day format during 2026:

• Phase I: Tentatively scheduled for Monday, 22nd June 2026
  Time: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
  Venue: PHMA House, 37-H, Block 6, PECHS, Karachi
• Phase II: Planned for September 2026 (exact date to be announced separately)
